Los Angeles-based label Mlle has launched its Spring 2015 campaign, starring Cailin Russo. The images were shot on-location in Formentera, Spain, by Worcester born photographer Henrik Purienne.
Enjoying the hot sun, Cailin Russo hits the beach wearing ’70s inspired looks that designer Kaya B. developed thanks to a “personal collection of 70s and 80s Vogue magazine archives, along with high society images of photographer of Slim Aarons.”
Certainly Mlle is no stranger to us, we have already expressed our love for the brand previously this year. And neither is Cape Town-based photographer Henrik Purienne (who started his career making documentary films, influenced by the realist aesthetic of filmmakers such as Eric Rohmer and John Cassavetes).
Mlle Mademoiselle actually represents stylish nonchalant and understated glamour. Named for the fresh-faced, carefree consumer, the brand embodies the elegance and feminine spirit of a modern woman. And so, confident and brassy, the MLLE Mademoiselle girl views the world as her playground – she already owns the perfect playsuit for exploring it.
Infusing her European sensibility and carefree beauty into each piece, the brand’s designer, Kaya, draws from her own experiences to create covetable collections. Born in Istanbul, trained in London and currently settled in Los Angeles, Kaya has soaked up street style across the globe and spun it into unique pieces.
